The BC Bridlehorse Heritage Association is dedicated to connecting those who are interested in learning with those who are passionate about sharing. This page is for those seeking trainers or educators who have experience with and knowledge of the old Californio bridlehorse development system and the gentle, slow, thoughtful stockmanship that goes with it.

Craig & Judy Bird - High Valley Ranch - Abbotsford, B.C. - Our Intro to Roping and Cow Work sessions offer a supportive space for new riders to build horsemanship skills. Students start with groundwork before advancing to the mechanical steer for roping basics. As they progress, they work with live cattle to refine timing, control, and teamwork. Whether you're new or strengthening your foundation, these classes will provide essential guidance and hands-on experience.

Carol Hamel - CH Horsemanship Carol is a true student of the horse with over 45 years of experience. While her focus is on the hackamore and bridle horse, Carol's well known for her all-around horsemanship, teaching and training. Her unique teaching brings to life a new understanding to horsemanship by working with each horse and rider at their level. When she’s not teaching riding or ranch roping, Carol is braiding hackamores and other traditional gear.

Genevieve Fraser - South Surrey, B.C. - With over 27 years of experience in the equestrian world, Genevieve has developed a deep understanding of multiple disciplines, including hunter jumper, dressage, and bridlehorse. For the past five years, she's trained under Miles Kingdon, further refining her skills and teaching approach. Genevieve tailors her instruction to each student’s unique abilities, using keen observation and an open-minded approach to strengthen the connection between horse and rider.
